Compassion and Sympathy.

Compassion: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

Sympathy: harmony of or agreement in feeling, as between persons or on the part of one person with respect to another.

I will say this phrase continually throughout my blog, "We are brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ, and we shall treat each other that way." We do not treat one another as we would ourselves. "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" - 1 John 3:17

If you see a person in need and you do not help or symathize with them, you are not loving the Lord your God. Help anyone in need, and be there for your brothers and sisters. Take pity in the needy, and give them their needs. Do not be boastful. Help and serve for all of God's children. Live in harmony with one another, and be compassionate and sympathetic.

"Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing." - 1 Peter 3:8-9

Let these words inspire you, and help the others surrounding you. I have heard from some of my friends, (not going to say any names) "I will give them money to help them out, but I don't want to serve and be around them. It's just not my thing." What kind of thing is that to do? You will do some good, but not do the work behind it? Do not be selfish and think you have better things you can do. Help the ones in need, for you would want the help and service if you were the one in their shoes. Just remember, you are all blessed in some way. Pray for the ones in need, give them compassion and sympathy. For some need it more than others.

"Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep." - Romans 12:9-10,12-15

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.
Amen.
