Boasting about Tomorrow.

Do you know what is going to happen in your future? I don't believe you do. God has his plan set up for you, and he knows what your future holds. You shouldn't try to make it what you wish for. He has everything under control. I understand that we all would like certain things, and we feel that some of our prayers don't get answered but that is because God has his reasonings and timings for everything. You might be praying for the wrong reason, don't wish for things because others have them and you do not. For that is one of the Ten Commandments,

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's." - Exodus 20:17

You should not predict your future. You should just go day by day and appreciate everything that God has blessed you with. Take care of today and every tomorrow will take care of itself.

"Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit" - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin." - James 4:13-17

Do not plan such a future, for that is God's job and intercepts his plan for you as a human. You shall not boast or be arrogant in any way shape or form. You don't know what is going to happen years down the road, nor do I or anyone else but the Lord above. If it is in God's plan it will happen, and we should think that way. If the Lord wants us to live in such a way he will have it that way. This is his world. We are his children. Don't mess up the plan. For you will have to answer to him, when the time comes.

All of us tend to plan far ahead at some time or another, and I never thought about it that way either until I read this passage in James about this certain topic. You never are old enough to stop reading the Bible. You will learn new things each and every time you open it. Without a doubt, it is our book of life. Any answer about anything, is in there. If you take your time out of our selfish lives to read it.

Again, do not plan your future. God will do that for you. Do not be boastful. Be graceful and willing to give your life over to the Lord our God.

The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all.
Amen.
