Your choices in life reflect on your reputation. If you make bad decisions you are known to make bad decisions, as well as if you making good decisions you are known to make good decisions. Everyone at some time in life makes bad decisions, it is your choice to not make that decision again. Whatever comes out of your mouth is what you are known of. Whatever you say, has been said and you cannot take it back after you've already said it. Speak maturely, and do not be hurtful. This all defiles you. It makes you as a person. You are known for what you do and the life choices you make on a day to day basis.
"And he called the people to him and said to them, "Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person." - Matthew 15:10-11
Never speak of someone in a hateful manner, for that is not your place to judge an individual of what you do not know. Do not be foolish and do so. For God will not only judge them, but you as well for judging when that is not your place to do so. Make yourself an image of a Christian, and be a faithful Christian. Be a loving Christian. For that is what Christians should do. We should all love and respect one another. You are developing into a person, and you are known for the things you do. Remember everything you do, God knows. He knows everything. Do not speak in such way that you will disappoint our Lord.
"But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, sexual immortality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person." - Matthew 15:18-20
Do you want to be known for those things? I don't believe so. I will make clear that it is not the opinions of the ones around us that matter, for it is God's thoughts on us as people that matter. Do not worry about what other individuals think of you, for that is not their place. God's vision on you is very important, you need to be faithful, loving, and truthful. What you decide to do in life defiles you. What you choose to say to someone, defiles you. What you decide to do in a hard situation, defiles you. Make wise decisions and better yourself for the Lord.
There is always room for improvement, and you can always try to better yourself and be a better Christian. Praise him. Worship him. Love him.
Never forget at the end who will judge us. And it's not the people surrounding us either. It's the Lord above.
