Obeying your Parents.


All children should obey their parents. Whether you agree or think it is not fair. It is their job to raise you and you can't raise yourself. Respect them, and learn to realize they have their best interest in you. They only want the best for you. I know that I've had my times where I get so angry at my parents and I think their ways are not fair. I've come to the understanding that they are doing what's right. My mother and father are wonderful parents and I don't appreciate them as much as I should. I love you Mommy and Daddy. Your long hours and efforts to make me into an independent person are surely paying off. Thank you for everything. 


"Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise), "that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land." Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."" - Ephesians 6:1-3


The relationship between parents and children are very sweet and special. Treat them with respect and love. Love one another. Children do not be rude or inconsiderate, for you will learn eventually the reasons that your parents do what they do. 


"Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him." - Proverbs 13:24


It is their responsibility to raise us and build us up. Let them. For this is the way God intended it to be.

You are Strong.


We all have our weak moments. Some of us may say "I'm not strong enough," not meaning physically but emotionally. I'm talking about emotionally. I've been known to say this a time or two. I've finally overcome that saying, and I won't let myself say it again. I am a strong individual, and I won't let myself become weak and defenseless. For I am strong and, I shall keep my head held high and walk with grace. I can accomplish anything, (as I say the word I, I mean you as well. Everyone. Anyone.) if I set my mind towards it. I can do anything and everything with God's help. 


"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." -Philippians 4:13


Never are you weak. You set your mind and your thoughts to say to yourself that you're weak. When you are not at all. You have to tell yourself you are strong and believe it. Tell yourself this everyday, "I am strong, and no one will ever convince me otherwise." It will help and it will build you. Believe in Christ and ask him to strengthen you, he will. He never lets you down. Never. Repent. He wants you to turn your life over to him. He will take better care for you life than you can yourself if you just let him. Give him the reins, so to speak. 


"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10


Do not fear for anything. He's right beside you. Every day, and every moment. You are under his care and nurture. He is the Father, Creator, and Lover of us all. 


You are Strong.

Acceptance.


Accepting one another shall be the topic for the day. I am a bad one at this myself. I make an opinion on a person before I get to know them, and that is unacceptable. I wouldn't want anyone to do that just by the outward appearance of one self. It's hurtful, and it's not the way we should treat one another as God's children. As God's children we are all together as one, not separated by groups, races, or nationalities. We are brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. As that is the way it was intended to be, we shall act upon those ways. 


"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." -Galatians 3:28


I have many flaws, and I'm not afraid to point them out. Not that I am proud about them, just that I'm not one to boast and be joyful to brag about my good doings. I need to learn to accept every human being for who they are, whether or not I like them or not. I shall be accepting because, God is the creator and he is the one that judges upon us all. Not me. Nor you. He is the one and only, and you shall not put yourself as the same position as the Lord. 


"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9


The Lord wishes for all of us a life full of happiness, but he also wishes for us all to reach repentance. For us all to be worshiping him, and living for him. Remembering that he is our creator helps me to keep in mind that he is the reason for why I am here. I have a purpose on this Earth, and I haven't quite figured it out yet. I will though. Soon enough. I will do what I am called for. 


(I underlined and emphasized the word all because, we are all God's children. He wants us to be one, and accept one another just for the people we are.)

Doing the "Right Thing"


Doing the "Right Thing," is said by numerous parents over the years. My parents have always said to me that we want you to grow up and know the difference between doing right and wrong. As I have aged over the years I am still learning, and I believe I will continue learning what is right and wrong. You are never old enough to learn new things. It is far more harder to do the right thing than the wrong thing. Don't take the easy way around and just get pulled down. You shall step up and make the right decisions, no matter how hard they may be. 


"So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin." - James 4:17


You shall overcome the devil, and do good. Peer pressure is a pure example of a test to make the right choices. Kids/Teenagers are very good at pressuring others their age to do something they know they shouldn't. For example, drinking; kids are cruel and will convince you to do these things. Step up and don't be afraid to say no, if you are not wanting. You will make mistakes along the way, and what matters is that you learn from those mistakes and not make them yet again. Think over before you make a decision that can impact your life. Go with your gut feeling, if you know the right thing to do.


"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." - Romans 12:21


Stay strong, and do the "Right Thing."

Cursing.


I am against cursing, and taking the Lords name in vain. It doesn't make you look cool, or make you fit in. Do you want to be remembered as what some may call a potty mouth? It's really unattractive, and it's not something you want to be remembered doing. Taking the Lord's name in vain bothers me far more than cursing on a daily basis. 


"You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain." -Exodus 20:7


You will hear children using the Lord's name in vain more and more each day. It's saddening to me. I hate to see young children being accustomed to hearing those words in their own home or school. I was raised to not say "Oh my God," or "Oh my Gosh." Some may say that gosh is not as bad or the same. When knowing it means the same thing, it shouldn't be said (at least in my opinion). Some say it without even thinking about it, and some are around others who say it and you end up start saying it as well. 


"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." -Ephesians 4:29


I personally prefer to not be around people that curse continually, or take the Lord's name in vain. As he is the Father and I should not put him down for his amazing work.

My Faith in God.


Definition: Faith: confidence or trust in a person or thing. 


Everyone wonders is God real? Everyone has their own thoughts and opinion on this. Mine? I have faith. I believe that God is there. Why? He has worked wonderful things into my life. Day by day, I can feel his presence in my life. He's done numerous things for my life. I have the faith, and believe in him. He's my Father. You need to read the Bible and read his words, it will possibly help you believe in him. It helps me, and reassures me of his second coming in the world. 


"And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." - Revelation 22:7


He has created us, as it says in Genesis.


"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." - Genesis 1:27


People can ask me about my faith and my beliefs and I will answer. I will not hesitate or try to change the subject. I am confident about my beliefs, and I respect your beliefs as I ask for you to respect mine as well. I look up to the Lord above and believe in him with all my heart, mind, and soul. I want to be a better Christian and, I am working on it on a daily basis. He watches over me, and he created my soul. I need to thank him and talk to him more than I have. Thanking him for everything he has blessed me with. I have been bad about just asking him for his guidance and help when only bad things happen to me. When I need to be thanking him for the good as well. I need to talk to him all the time, regardless. I am blessed, very blessed. There are individuals out there in the world that are far worse off than I am. I have it made compared to some. So, I need to be helping those that need God in there lives. He works wonders.


"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man." - Psalm 118:8


 I want you to know how I feel about life, and how wonderful it is to give your life over to the Lord. Come join me. 


"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." - Romans 10:17

Alcohol Abuse


Alcohol Abuse: definition --- excessive use of alcohol and alcoholic drinks.

Most kids my age have either had a beer before or drink every weekend. I have not had alcohol in my life. I will not because it does not phase me. Alcohol actually blocks a handful of  messages that are trying to reach the brain. It alters emotions, movement visions, and perceptions. It effects the central nervous system, which is the brain and spinal cord. In my own opinion alcohol makes you look stupid. Yes, there is a difference in just having a glass or can every so often and not abusing it. Abuse is what I am talking about today. There is no wrong-doing in having a few every now and then. I do not look down on anyone that does so. I have my opinions and thoughts just as everyone does.

"And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit." - Ephesians 4:18 

In 2006, approximately 22,073 people died due to being alcohol-induced in the United States. That is a lot of people. I don't want to see this number to continue to go up-hill. We need to learn to drink responsibly. Be above the influence. Don't take your life for alcohol.
